"About me:-
I was a construction project manager with an engineering background. I was made redundant late 2019. Whilst I was on a break, I started trading and studying the markets in May 2020, with a view to see if I could make a success out of it. I soon found that I loved it and wanted to progress to a full time living from trading. I had the time and the capital, just needed further knowledge and experience, or so I thought.
The problem:
I set myself a task of learning everything I could, but I found, with more knowledge, came worse results in my trading account as I tried to add new techniques into my trading plan. I thought more knowledge was the answer so sought out more techniques…went looking for the holy grail.
At the beginning 2020, I realized that I was going backward, and that I wanted someone to hold me to account for my behavior before it was all lost. At that time I had lost about $10 grand. I remembered I had greatly improved as a manager by being coached professionally, so I reached out to Ash to mentor me across a few months starting on a weekly basis and hold me to account to my trading plan.
The solution:
First, we did a restart, we rebuilt my trading rules and business plan and thoroughly challenged and back tested all my plans. I retested my rules and my edge and honed my system across 4 years of data. Once the plan was set in stone, Ash reviewed my performance on a regular basis which was exactly the sort of accountability I needed to perform at my optimum.
The results:
In reality I had overcomplicated my trading plan and once we simplified it, I made back my losses in the first month and upscaled my trading to hit my annual income targets. Its early days this year, however the trading account is growing!. That’s the only REAL measure!! I take my losses and don’t worry much because my system has an edge and over time, I will make my money. I’m now much more confident and consistent.
